The four most instagrammable spots in Ayrburn

Ayrburn

If you came to Ayrburn, had a fantastic meal and unforgettable drinks but didn’t post anything to Instagram, did it even happen? Ayrburn farm re-imagined into a food and beverage neighbourhood gives limitless opportunities for budding photographers. Old meets the new, heritage buildings, mesmerizing gardens and art installations that will have you coming back for more.

These are some of the most popular spots shared on Instagram and may help you to plan your next visit to Ayrburn to get that perfect shot, something Instagram profile worthy!

1 – Pinot by the fire.

Maybe it’s the turn of the weather this week, but everyone seems to be visiting us for that cosy winter-coat and boots shot snuggled by the fire outside with some wine and nibbles. And we can see why. Queenstown THRIVES in the winter, and there’s something so comforting in being able to light the fire and get cosy with a glass of Ayrburn’s Central Otago Pinot. Delicious AND picture perfect.

2- Wander through the gardens.

Ayrburn Gardens

Add a pop of colour to your grid with the flowering Snapdragons in the Ayrburn Flower Garden. Central Otago has a fantastic reputation for growing spectacular flowers and fruit – anything that thrives in the region’s extreme temperate changes. The Ayrburn Flower Garden has something always on show, so you’re bound to find that perfect shot no matter the season.

3- Pose by Napoleon.

Napoelon the Clysdale

Pose with Napoleon, our resident gentle giant. Napoleon is rumoured to be the first Clydesdale in New Zealand, starting the breeding line here. He worked the Ayrburn farm with William Patterson, an obedient and friendly farm hand. The life-sized bronze statue stands beside Ajax, the Patterson’s prized Romney Ram, and makes for an excellent photography focal point.

4 – Walkway.

Walkway to the Woolshed

Turn in any direction on any path at Ayrburn and you’ve got yourself an enviable frame for your new outfit. However, If you’ve packed your winter coat and expensive knit to show off in wintery Queenstown, there’s few better spots than the walkway headed down to the Woolshed. Start at The Burr Bar (and while you’re there try The Green Lady cocktail, it’s a must!) then head down the path to The Woolshed. Pause and Pose!
